Would anyone who is a manager like to take a survey?

Im asking around to learn about various managing styles and techniques. Thank you.

1. What is the most common form of communication in your organization (email, phone, face-to-face, etc.)? How do you choose it and why?

2. Do you every observe nonverbal signals (body language, facial expressions, etc.)?

3. How do you handle conflict in your organization with other employees?

4. How has your communication style changed since becoming a manager?

5. How is communication different when dealing with other cultures?

6. How do you handle firing an employee?

7. How do you conduct interviews?

8. How do you prepare for and manage meetings?

9. Do you have any advice for a new manager?

Thanks

Would anyone who is a manager like to take a survey?
1. What is the most common form of communication in your organization (email, phone, face-to-face, etc.)? How do you choose it and why?

Face to face, I work with employees and prefer to speak to them individally for a more personal touch.

2. Do you every observe nonverbal signals (body language, facial expressions, etc.)? I do sometime is the the arm cross of boredum or rolling of eyes.

3. How do you handle conflict in your organization with other employees? I speak with everyone involved individually and then decide on the best solution to the problem. I find it better to listen to all sides of the story before attempting to handle the situation.

4. How has your communication style changed since becoming a manager?

I have had to learn to be much calmer and not show my personal feeling but to handle each person the same with no favoritistm

5. How is communication different when dealing with other cultures? I treat everyone the same.

6. How do you handle firing an employee?

With the company I work with we use a 3 write up code of conduct so upon recieving the 3 write up I inform them of the problem and their immediate termination.

7. How do you conduct interviews?

I like to see what the person expects of the job and what they think I expect of them. First impressions are key.

8. How do you prepare for and manage meetings?

I like to be fully prepared for all meetings. I like to have anything that I need to present on paper to keep me from forgetting any important information.

9. Do you have any advice for a new manager?

Treat employees the way you want to be treated, you never know when they may outrank you. Never show favorites treat everyone as an equal.

If you were a new employee, what would be deciding factors to make you stay or leave?

The company I work for is a mess. Turnover is high and now my supervisor left yesterday. We have a new supervisor now but after only 1 day of training he has no log in to our system, and no knowledge of what we do. I am training someone else also and strangely enough I am training MY new supervisor! The "upper management" is barking orders at me to produce what my last supervisor did, but I am not a supervisor, nor do I want to be. Tomorrow I am having a meeting with these people about the bad impression we are giving and I would like some input from you on what would "make it or break it" in deciding to stay with a company. Be frank and honest, talk about real experiences, or something you could imagine would be a problem. We are talking mostly "structural issues" and not harassment as that is not the case where I work.

Thank you for your information, this one will be taken to the table tomorrow, this "public opinion survey" really counts!

Kind regards

If you were a new employee, what would be deciding factors to make you stay or leave?
I wouldn't outright quit. Say your peace but it is always smart to have another job lined up before quitting.
Reply:You don't have to quit, but you also don't have to be pushed around and taken advantage of. You can only do so much. So, don't stress. It sounds like they can't lose you, so, as long as you have a good work ethic and are trying to do what you can, you should be able to have a good time at this job and let the upper mngment stress about how their company is falling apart. In the meantime, look for another job and don't leave unless it's perfect!
Reply:well first if they have you working as a supervisor if the pay didn't match that then I wouldn't do it.. but if you like your job and it is not too stressful then I would stay.

You seem very unhappy there. I could never work for someone or someplace I don't respect. The company is in dire need of re-organization and overall take charge direction. I imagine the rest of the employees need some serious morale lifting. The masses need a leader! That is why production/productivity is down and chaos is ruling. If not dealt with immediately, work circumstances would be intolerable. If you do not want the supervisory position, why are you addressing the meeting? You need to decide if you want to lead (demand salary increase) or request a transfer to a sister company or give notice ASAP. Good luck
Reply:If I like the nature of the job and it will help me reach where I want to be, if I am treated well and if I see you optimistic and being *honest*, I will decide to stay. I rather hear the truth even if it's not pleasant and I will try to be as accomodating as possible. But that is me, and I don't know about others preferences. One thing I do suggest is you ask them what their goals and interests are....and help them reach their own personal goals. When you take an interest in their career goals, they are more likely to help you reach yours. Goodluck, and kudos to you for handling so much change. All the best. Take it all as a challenge and a stepping stone to more growth and learning.
Reply:it can go both ways later on, it can get worst and cause to much stress on you, or since the "big dogs" that where above you are gone, or you know more then the one they just hired, it can work for you for a promotion or a better standing in the company. Maybe wait it out a little, and do some job searching on the side.

How do you make sure you get a good job right after college?

I guess I need to tell you a bit about me so we can narrow this down.

I will graduate this fall with a B.S. in psychology from Illinois tech. I have relevant work experience in survey data and stats for some big name companies.

I also managed computer labs and other employees. I worked on a project for Calamos investments and I'm currently interning at a multicultural marketing agency in downtown Chicago. Lastly, I'm bilingual.

I really don't know how much a person with my skills is worth. Salary.com makes the amounts fluctuate way too much. I have tried to network but I haven't made any relevant connections. My resume is up on monster and career builder. I had a couple of job offers in which they wanted me to drop out from school and work for them full time. I turned them down.

Any suggestions on what else I could do? This is really frightening to me. My friend graduated 6 months ago in business and he is working at the mall for 6.50 an hour.

How do you make sure you get a good job right after college?
It's all about networking.People land a job not because of their credentials (or not exactly because of them) but rather because they have a network of friends and acquantainces here and there. Talk to everyone you know, let them know you're in search of a career opportunity. One day the phone will rind, one of those friends would have heard of some opportunity somewhere that he believes is ideal for you...
Reply:First, get the right degree.

Second, go to the right college.

Third, make good grades.

Since it's too late to address these, check with the college placement office. Do they conduct any job fares?
Reply:i thought a person like u, with that much of experience in hand would likely to get a good offer

ill begin my 2nd year this fall. keeping gpa up is one thing, gettin experience is another thing. and getting a job after that will be another thing.

whatever, for me, i just let destiny leads.
Reply:A word of advice: don't worry....with your experience and qualifications, job offers will come. Take whatever that comes first to gain further experience. It will do wonders to your CV. If it is not your ideal job, look for another. Someday, you'll land into a good one.
Reply:You are one, out many others who will be graduating in near future, with some what better degree, better institute, may with better grades too.

In short, we are currently living in a highly competitive era.

With your existing experience and graduation in psychology and knowledge of two languages, you better explore possibility of

finding job in 'Hospitality and Tourism' industry in HRM/HRD as recruiter or trainer. You may add few specialization, while working and grow as expert.

do attend campus interview or Job fare organized in your collage.

I know, not a poll or survey, but If I lose my job because of a lie that a customer said to my manager...?

Would that be considered slander and could I sue that customer for damages? I work in a hotel and a guest claimed that I called his girlfriend and told her that he was bringing strange women back to the hotel. I didn't do this of course since I don't know him or her and it wouldn't be any of my business anyways, but it got me into really hot water with my manager, who believed him over me. I am an exemplary employee who even received a near perfect score on my evaluation two weeks ago. I have not lost my job, but since leaving the gentleman has called several times asking to speak with the manager who has been out. I am worried that when she gets back he will call her and tell her something else and I will lose my job. If this happens is there any kind of recourse that I could take against him or against the hotel?

I'm just looking for answers and the law section is of course incredibly slow. I don't even know if anybody is there...

I know, not a poll or survey, but If I lose my job because of a lie that a customer said to my manager...?
OMG, Patrick...Did this go further than the last time you posted this Q? I am SO sorry to hear this. I was hoping that we had settled you down some on it, but GEEZ. I would sue the Customer for lost wages, damages and SLANDER. How hard will it be for you to get a job with that on your record. I believe that YES you do have something substantial to go on. Slander and defamation of character.

Not sure its called "slander" though, i think the correct term is "lible" or something.

At any rate, you have a case I'm pretty sure.

Do companies typically release salary comparables?

I am told my company does salary surveys to make sure our salary grades are in line with industry standards and across our own company. Do companies typically release this information to their own employees?

Do companies typically release salary comparables?
Not normally, salary surveys are to get good reliable information on "bench mark" jobs.
Reply:They might and not make it very known as to how to get it, but if you want good, solid salary info, go to www.acinet.org. You can get state reports, and even some metropolitan area reports.

Ladies Only! Opinion Survey!?

Would be in-appropriate and how would you feel if you were shopping in a department store and an employee walked up to you and started to flirt with you and asked you for your phone number? What would be the best things for him to say? What would be the worst things for him to say?

The reason I ask is I always see women in the store where i would that I would like to talk to and see if they would be interested in getting to know each other but I am afraid that some women may find it to be un-acceptable for an employee to do this.

Ladies Only! Opinion Survey!?
awwww! since u work in a store, walk up to her (casually and SMILE) and ask her if she needs help looking for anything....and if she says 'no thanks, i'm just looking,' tell her that if she needs any asistance, that you'll be more than happy to help her.

i'd like it if a guy walked up to me and started talking to me in a store...i don't see anything wrong with that guy being a store emplyee...at least i'd know that he has a job and isn't at home being lazy.

hope it works out.
Reply:smile
Reply:come up to them and ask them if they want help.if they say yes, either they do need help,or they think ur cute and are letting u help them.either way strike up a conversation while u help them find whatever theyre looking for.then maybe ask for theyre phone number depending on how the conversation went.good luck!
Reply:Subtlety (sp?) would be the key in this case. You don't want to freak the women out and you certainly don't want them to tell your boss (they'll flip their lids fo sho!)

Offer to help, make yourself available and don't pour it on too strong. If you can tell she's lingering over something that she's not sure about and you think it would look nice on her-tell her. Other men think that crap is corny but us chicks dig men who pay us compliments...especially if you tell her something like the color would go well with her tan or the cut of the jeans would look great on a body like hers, etc, etc.

Keep it general and stay cool...desperation = turnoff.

It'll happen eventually. Good luck
Reply:yes it is unacceptable and embarrassing
Reply:Don't be aggressive. Gently walk over with a big smile and start a conversation. Don't try to sell them something. Don't say something stupid like, "Hi Beautiful!". Don't stare at body parts. Never say something sexual. You will be able to tell by their response to you if they are interested. Each time the come in the store show more interest. Eventually, they might be approachable for a date.
Reply:Depends. I'm married and so I'd never go out with another man, but if I weren't married it would depend on the person. If an employee was flirting with me I would be flattered and it would make me feel good about myself so that I don't see as a problem. If I liked the guy I would flirt back and if the employee were to get that kind of reciprocation than he should feel comfortable enough to ask me out. Now, if I didn't flirt back than he would know not to pursue it.

I think that being a department store that kind of behavior would fine. But as far as a professional place such as a Dr.s office or other official places of business it would be completely unacceptable. It may be a double standard but it works for me.
Reply:You should be able to tell if she is interested by passively flirting. Read their response and maybe tell a little joke or something ease your way in there find out if she is available first...read her body language and don't disrespect.
Reply:I would just walk out of the store.
Reply:I don't think that would be a good idea. Not that it's a "bad" thing to do and some women may be flattered, but why take the chance of one of them "going off" and talking with your manager? You could get fired for something like that. If you were in a store shopping yourself I could see it. You would have nothing to loose, but at your job... Just consider them "eye candy" and finish your work....
Reply:You might scare some of them away or get yourself reported to your boss.

When a woman is shopping, she doesn't want to be distracted by someone trying to make time. If you want to find out in conversation where someone hangs out, that is one thing, but asking for dates is asking for trouble.
Reply:I know what you are saying.

As long as you remember that chicks at a store are customers as well.

Remember not to get into an argument with a customer because you might win the argument but lose the job.

All the same, as a male, it is your birthright duty to chase girls; after all why are girls for? to be chased by males.

Just watch what you do and keep a skeptical cautious mind and youll be OK.

Tell me how it goes.

How to Motivate Employees?

im am conducting a survey on how to motivate employees in any coperation. can you please tell me what motivates you most at work? or if you were a manager, tell me what do you think motivates your employees most. thank you

How to Motivate Employees?
I think a key to motivation is a good working environment. I have known people who worked in a company for years due to the loyalty and dedication to one another. To know that I work for people who care about my personal life as well as my work life, would be a key to me doing better at my job. This would include:

*Managers who set up reward systems to employees who do good jobs (incentives, promotions, etc)

*Any gatherings that would promote socializing among co-workers

*Benefits that would make it flexible for employees to take necessary time off for personal matters.

*Upper management who treat everyone equal regardless of title. This is important because if there was any problems between a boss and a subordinate, someone could be able to step in and mediate without being biased.

I believe that if a company is able to take that extra step in making people comfortable in a work environment, the more they will be willing to work and stay there.
Reply:Yes, it is very simple. Honest days work for an honest day's pay. First you have to produce the honest days pay. There are always the lazy ones though.

Many employers want $20 an hour work for only $10 an hour pay. Henry Ford was an excellent example. He payed $2 a day and expected you to work 10 your days. I do mean work with only one lunch break. That was the beginning of organized labor.
Reply:For Me: To maintain my life style, I need my job. Therefore the potential to be fired or layed-off motivates me. There must be the possibility of losing the job in order for folks to work hard to keep it. Otherwise, it is just socialism without competition.

Secondly, Recongnition and feedback. I like to be told I'm doing good work or "your a key member" of the team. There are many ways to do this (performance reviews, awards, peer reviews, public announcements, letter to upper management, etc).

Third, Money. The potential for more/increase in salary or a bonus check is always a good motivator.

What kind of sample is this?

umm... a department store plan to conduct a survey

to conduct this survey employees of the store asked people who came into them to go online

(the survey is surveying how much money they spend to buy shoes over a course of a year).

explain what kind of sample is this??

our teacher said is not a conveince sample!

and tell me if this is biased or not

What kind of sample is this?
it is biased. not all ppl have internet.
Reply:iono i gess biased.

Reply:Yes, and you could expand upon that idea for hospital workers. Time spent in the lav is time wasted. Foley catheters could be installed as you clock in!

How do I convince prospective empolyer/s my interest in exploring diff areas of HR other than recruitment?
It's sometimes difficult to transition from staffing into other areas, in part because staffing is in high demand right now. If you are a contract recruiter, try taking some classes or obtaining an HR certification.

Another option is to become an in-house recruiter for one company, and then transfer into HR as opportunities become available. You could offer yourself as a "full service recruiter, taking the new employee from sourcing to hire and through orientation to get some experience in delivering orientation. From there it can be a quick step over to training and then you're off and running. A large company in a high-turnover industry (like retail or food service) may be your best bet to have an opportunity as an in-house recruiter as well as the ability to move up quickly.

Good luck!

I say that if an employee has to be drug tested to secure their job which will require them to pay taxes, the people who receive state assistance ( welfare ) should have to be drug tested too.... ( we might see a HUGE decline in welfare cases )

Designing a survey?

I am designing a survey to give out at work to find out why the turn over rate has increased so much in the last two years. What type of variables should I inquire about. My hypothesis is: Employees who feel underappreciated at work tend to have a poor work attitude, thus move on to other companies.

Designing a survey?
Job satisfaction. What place the job held in their live (like, was it a career move, a transistion, something to pay the bills). Burn out/stress. If they feel underappreciated/what would make employees feel more appreciated. General work ethic.
Reply:tyrant bosses, low pay, overtime, employee rivalry, bad equipment, induced stress, even personal problems at home, not to mention the meth problem has become epidemic and users cannot function even though they think they can.GL
Reply:Some possible survey variables:

Age and sex: younger people may leave more often than older people

Job title and years of experience at the company and in the industry: more experienced people tend to stay, non-managers might leave more frequently

Company benefits and salary, such as 401(k), medical insurance: companies with poor benefits may promote greater turnover

Industry and industry competition/competitors: certain industries and companies experience greater turnover due to healthier competitors

Satisfaction rating of current job and perception of growth opportunities in the company: few internal promotion opportunities make people leave

These are just a few, there are probably more. "Underappreciation" can be a difficult thing to measure since it's impacted by so many things - what if the benefits package is poor and so they feel "underappreciated"? What if their boss is poor and they feel "underappreciated"? That feeling can be generated by a number of different variables.
Reply:I'm not a psychologyist; thus, I might not fully understand your problem. However. It sounds as if you want to 'probe' whether your hypothesis is correct. It calls for a 'Contingency Table' kind of analysis. You should look further on that subject on any basic statistics book.

Now, you must survey both godd-attitude people, as well as bad attitude. You should survey people who have stayed, as well as people who have left.

You can draw and fill a table like this:

.............Stay..|.Left.|.Total.|

----------------------------------

Good.|............|........|.............

----------------------------------

Bad ..|............|........|..........|

----------------------------------

Total.|............|........|......... |

If your hypothesis is WRONG , good and bad should be distributed EVENLY (proportionally) among left and stayed:

E(Good-Left) = Total Good x Left/Total

E(Bad-Left)=Total Bad x Left / Total

Then you compute for each entry expected minus observed, squared.

The sum of all those distributes as a Chi square with N minus 2 degrees of freedom.

If the computed sum is HIGHER than the correspondant CHi square P-value, the your hypothesis is true with 1-p probability.

Hope it helps

An internal survey?

".....An internal survey revealed that some employees at Company Y had called in sick in order to take care of a sick child. The company's CEO instituted free on-site day care in hopes of reducing the number of employees engaging in this practice. However, the number of employees who called in sick to care for a sick child was actually higher in the sixth month of the on-site day-care program than it had been the month before the program was instituted....."

do you understand the meaning of this sentence ?

i see people phoned-in to the office because they are sick while the real cause was their baby were sick.

Then what CEO did ? this is not understandable and why it failed ?

what is on-site day care ?

can anybody explain the meaning in a simpler way in steps ?

An internal survey?
It's... not that hard.. people phoned in sick for their kids because they had sick kids AND... they DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO WORK... and sick kids are a great excuse.. (Their kids are ALWAYS sick... they're KIDS) Once this day care idea came to light, they notice that the CEO was a complete MORON and figured they could take MORE days off, for them AND for their children.

This is a business question.. for a big business... say 50 employees at least.

You find that a lot of your employees are calling in sick for the same reason... the reason is "my kid's sick".

So you become a total moron and forget that when YOUR kids are sick, THEY stay home and YOU go to work. (Unless the kids are VERY young) like any NORMAL human being.

So you say "You CAN'T call in sick anymore because I've instituted this "Daycare AT work", which makes no sense because the kids aren't going to leave home for school so why the f would they leave home to go to your work?

Then your employees notice that you're trying to force them into coming into work more and NOBODY likes being forced to do ANYTHING, so f that, I'm taking more days off... after all the CEO's so stupid he thinks that daycare replaces school when it comes to sickness.
Reply:Firstly it sounds like the management is dumb.

On site day care is baby sitting facilities at the work site.

I don't think neither parents nor onsite care-givers want a sick child there (at work)to spread an infection among their other charges, disrupt play activities, or create other related problems, so it stands to reason that a parent will prefer to stay at home to care for a sick child.

The increase in absenteeism may be just a statistical quirk or it could very well be "backlash" against the management's attempt to reduce absence.

A little bit of age discrimination might be useful to counteract such a dilemna (at the risk of violating equal-opportunity requirements) hiring only older employees who are less likely to have young children might off set this phenomenon, but if they are too old then they will have health problems of their own, inspite of the wizzened hands they might lend to the operation as well.

Hiring on the basis of health-related job absence might be illegal under fair employment practices rules.

Age discrimination is... but "Experience Qualifications"... might get you around this if you are willing to pay higher wages in compensation for the added years of experience you thus bring to bear in your work force.
Reply:the people were lying like syphlitic ridden crack whores about their kids being sick..

What is the feeling to be reprimanded in a job? what are the reasons why you have been reprimanded?
I haven't been reprimanded for a long time. When I was just starting working (still in high school, freshman), I remember some of the managers were kind of harsh. One pushed me and another girl because he didn't think we were moving quickly enough. The other girl's parents came in and yelled at him. They made her quit too. I think if you are going to reprimand an employee then that person should be treated with dignity and respect, not like a child who has done something wrong. Always take the position of the benefit of the doubt. Ask questions. Don't make assumptions. Be direct and honest. If I'm doing something wrong or should be done differently then I want someone to tell me openly and honestly. If you treat me like a child then I will start looking for another job. I won't tolerate that. I don't need to be micromanaged. I'm quite capable of doing my job well if I know what is expected and what needs to be done. I'm flexible as well. I think this goes for a lot of employees. If there is a problem, usually there is a problem with management.
Reply:I got completely hauled over the coals recently because I lost an account. I work at an email marketing company, and one particular client was basically unhappy with the way I handled things. Looking at it with an unbiassed eye, we basically hadn't communicated... I hadn't actually done anything wrong as such but she'd felt like I was neglecting her.

So she told my boss she was going elsewhere and he pulled me in for a 'chat'. I felt like dying while I was in there - it's always pretty hard to face up to your failings. He wasn't unfair in his comments, but he wasn't exactly sparing with them either. Ultimately, I have to respect his position. It didn't feel good then, and it still doesn't feel good a week or two later (even though he hasn't raised it again.)

I'm not telling you anything more personal than that (like my name) sorry!

Probability questions?

there are 1300 people surveyed on job satisfaction: 750 men %26amp; 550 women

Suppose that one of the 1300 employees surveyed is chosen at random:

1. What is the probability that he or she feels that a good relationship with the boss is extremely important?

2. What is the probability that the employee is a female who feels that a good relationship with the boss is extremely important?

3. Given that the chosen employee considers that having a good relationship with the boss is extremely important, what is the probability that this employee is a female?

Here is the data needed:

Good Relationship with Boss: Men:61% Women: 77%

thank you very much

Probability questions?
M = Male

F = Female

G = Good relationship with boss.

P(M) = 750/1300 (probability that the chosen person is male)

P(F) = 550/1300 (probability that the chosen person is female)

P(G/M)=0.61

P(G/F)=0.77

1) P(G) = P(M) P(G/M)+ P(F) P(G/F)

P(G) = (750/1300) (0.61) + (550/1300)(0.77)

0.3519+0.3258=0.6777

2)P(F)P(G/F)= (550/1300)(0.77)=0.3258

3)P(F/G) = P(F)P(G/F) / [P(F)P(G/F)+P(M)P(G/M)]

= (550/1300)(0.77) / 0.6777

You can simplify this.
Reply:1. You must add the number of satisfied men and women and divide by the total number of applicants, and then multiply by 100%.

61% MALE of 750 = 457.5

77% FEMALE of 550 = 423.5

457.5 + 423.5 = 881

(881/ 1300) x 100% =

ANSWER 67.6%

2. There are 423.5 females who feel a good relationship with the boss is important. You take this number and divide by the total number of applicants, and then multiply by 100% to get your answer.

(423.5 / 1300) x 100% = 32.57%

3. You must divide the number of females who think a relationship with the boss is important (423.5) by the total number of people who feel that way (881), and then multiply by 100%.

(423.5 / 881) x 100% = 48.07%

Who could live off of 6.50?
Reply:1.If told you were only going to make $6.50 an hour at a desired job, would you still want to work there?

Heck no, I make 3 times that much.

2.Does working at the Disney Store appeal to you? Why or why not?

No way. B/c it just doesn't.

3.Why would an employee want to hire you?

I am a good dependable hard worker.

I gave my notice at work. I have e-mails from my boss where he makes fun of coworkers. Is it illegal to send?

I have a slimeball boss, who in the past has sent demeaning e-mails making fun of overweight coworkers, calling others the "land of misfits", and one where he offered to pay me to lie and fill out an employee survey with positive remarks that would rank our company as a best place to work. I've had enough, and found a new job. My 2 week notice ends Friday. My question is, is it illegal to forward those e-mails from my work e-mail to home e-mail? I know that I should report him to HR, but given it is a small company and my bosses relationship with HR I have little faith that anything would be done. I do not want to dwell on the e-mails, as I am beyond excited to move on, but I want to keep a record of them. I've printed copies, but am I being over paranoid to keep an electronic copy and is it illegal to send them from my work e-mail to home e-mail? Another guy I work with quit too, and has even worse e-mails. I'd appreciate any thoughts on what to do. Thank you!

save the emails

when u quit show it to other people working there

eventually he'll get fired

but if i was u

i would just stay quit

u dont know these type of people

i dont wanna get shot
Reply:I wouldnt show people, just HR. You may really upset the co workers. A lot of them could quit and really leave the company hanging.

Remember, you don't hate your company you hate your boss!!
Reply:report him to HR. they will explain to him that his behavior is inappropriate. you will do the company and him a favor in the long run. most HR depts. will keep the source of complaint confidential. bravo to you for having an ethical conscience!
Reply:It is not illegal to forward the emails home. However, it may be against company policy and it could be blocked by company servers or at minimum tracked. You can download them to a memory stick without detection if so desired.

I would not forward the emails to anyone. There is no sense burning bridges. You have NO IDEA who you may be working with in the future (5, 10, 15 years down the road). Burning bridges could really hurt you later in life. The feel good moment of today is not worth it.
Reply:Email them to the entire company, and to his boss. The worst they could do is fire you... oh thats right :)
Reply:Remember that anything you send to, or receive from anyone can essentially become a legal document and introduced to court. The fact that your boss sent them is his issue. If you forward them to yourself and leave, and then use the documents in any way, you have just used company property for personal gain. This is a classic set up for a lawsuit.

Go to HR. Let them know why you have resigned, present them with the evidence. Ask your former coworker to do the same. Unless the HR is uninformed, or the company has something to hide, they will want to protect themselves from further action, and should take action.

By the way, what you describe is potentially legally harassment. Taken right from the EEOC website:

Offensive conduct may include, but is not limited to, offensive jokes, slurs, epithets or name calling, physical assaults or threats, intimidation, ridicule or mockery, insults or put-downs, offensive objects or pictures, and interference with work performance. Harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances, including, but not limited to, the following:

The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, a supervisor in another area, an agent of the employer, a co-worker, or a non-employee.

The victim does not have to be the person harassed, but can be anyone affected by the offensive conduct.

Unlawful harassment may occur without economic injury to, or discharge of, the victim.
Reply:yes it is illegal.... it is called internet harrassment and you should go to hr, and a lawyer. kids can be expelled from school and sent off for things like that, imagine how an adult can be punished.
Reply:No, it's not illegal to send at all. In fact, you can email them to everyone in the office if you wanted to.

The polls all favor Obama, but he is not winning in PA? I conducted my own PA Blog survey. Do yahoo! Easy.?

Goggle, Yahoo, Independent...Run your own questions and get some answers. Do not be swated by the image of winning that Obama is trying to portray and manipulate our thoughts process. Money buys press and strange employees with strange backgrounds of creating things that don't exist.

The polls all favor Obama, but he is not winning in PA? I conducted my own PA Blog survey. Do yahoo! Easy.?
people are dreaming if they think Obama is going to win PA not going to happen!!!
Reply:One poll does not make him a winner but even if he gets the nomination he will not win in November. There is still too much prejudice in this country whether people want to admit it or not. I have older members in my family who just won't vote for him. If this is the case how can he win? More people turn out for the actual election then they normally do in the primary so realistically when everything is said and done, how will he win over those people who won't vote for an african american and if he can't then a republican will be president again. I'd sincerely like to know the answer.
Reply:Geez. I'm happy for people who are happy, but cannot share the joy knowing Obama is a member of the Council of Foreign Affairs.

CFR supports North American Union.

NAU means loss of sovereignty and freedoms for America. One government, one Army, %26amp; open borders for the whole of North America .... and a new currency, the "Amero".

Too scary for my liking!

Obama is very inspiring but I cannot accept NAU. Can you?

Vote the only candate opposing the North American Union - Ron Paul!!!
Reply:Obama, Wright or Wrong.
Reply:he's not "winning" in PA--HE'S GAINING ON THE SPREAD BETWEEN HE AND HILLARY--She had a 22 point lead, now it's narrowed.
Reply:You're a genius.
Reply:A real scientific poll cannot be conducted over the internet. You are not obtaining a representative sample.

The national poll favors Obama, the PA poll shows Clinton leading but losing ground.

What is so confusing?
Reply:Blog surveys are completely meaningless. Scientific polls by reputable companies such as Gallup, Rasmussen and others show Obama gaining substantially on Clinton. He's gained 10 points in Pennsylvania in the past 2 weeks and the election is more than 2 weeks away.
Reply:He may not win Pennsylvania, we all know this, but Shrillary will not win by enough to really even make a dent.

Why do you guys keep repeating the same ole BS??

Pay attention and speak the whole truth, not just in part.

My vote is for Obama!
Reply:No dude, the most optimistic scenario i see for clinton is she wins Pa but barely like what happened in Texas. This is a pattern we have been seeing all along. Clinton starts off with double digit lead and as time goes by loses all of it! She lacks magic I guess.
Reply:Check again. He is only about three points behind. Obama's interview with MSNBC Chris Mathews really help to push his count up.

Queen of Lies is going to lose Penn
Reply:Obama Will win Penn!

Human resource survey?

This is a surey for my paper.

Do you think a very loyal employee is necessarily a good employee? Why or why not?

Identify four management right that you believe should not be to collective bargaining .

What are your feelings about the falling statement: Management should always fight hard to keep unions out their organization.

Human resource survey?
A loyal employee may be a poor worker. He may be loyal because no other company wants to hire him.

-

Unions fight for higher wages and more benefits. In turn, the company has to raise their prices. That makes them less competitive in the marketplace. When they are less competitive, the lose market share and may even have to close. Unions also fight for the rights of the poorest employees who would normally be fired. The company has to keep the poor employee working and that will lower the morale and bring down the work level of every other employee. The union representative often spends his days working on union projects but must still be paid by the company even though he is actually accomplishing very little work. Unions cost the company a lot. The company who pays their workers more than the competition and keeps the union out will do far better

I am doing an MLM survey, those in MLM, please help?

Do you consider your downline to be similar to hiring employees or as a compilation of businesses?

If you consider them to be like employees, do you push them to strive for more sales or more recruiting (if your answer is sales or both, how much does your average downline do in sales per month)?

If you consider them separate businesses of their own (thus assuming you don't depend on your downline for income), how much personal volume (sales on your own) do you do?

***please don't come in here telling me you do all sorts of personal sales without stating how much monthly PERSONAL volume you do and what percentage of it you earn as commission. I need hard numbers, even if they are estimates.

Thanks.

I am doing an MLM survey, those in MLM, please help?
MLM is NOT a business, It never pays off except for the top tier (The folks who put it together). It is for people to rip other people off. It takes advantage of people who are looking for a quick buck usually those in our society who are poor or desperate.

Tell ya what in 10 years you come to me and show me your bank statement, if it's more than $1,000,000 cash I'll eat it! According to all the "MLM" schemes I've heard this is not supposed to be too difficult to achieve.

Reply:I hope you are not considering getting into MLM.
Reply:I have recently joined a friend because the products actually helped me feel better and greatly improved my physical appearance. As for down line I only sign up someone who has tried the product(s) and are happy with the products. So for me they are friends that are helping themselves to a healthier and happier life. My personal volume is about $170 per month whole sale and the little extra from my down line pays for most of my purchases. If you would like more detailed information please contact me.
Reply:I do not recall signing up for MLM. However, I did hear some bad rumors about it. But from what you mentioned so far, I am guessing that your downline works like a referral since you get some amount of money that your downline makes. Am I correct? If not, I apologize. However, if I am right...I would say you consider them as partners and not employees. You shouldn't "push" them. You should "encourage" them. I am not in MLM, but I was in something similar to it. What you earn probably depends how much you are willing to do. I will do some more research on this.

In addition, if you are looking for places to start a business or just to earn a little income...I will can recommend you some websites. SFI might be able to help you if you want to start a business. I would say that you should definitely check it out. If you are interested in doing other thing to earn extra income (surveys, cash offer, games, and shopping), you can check out sendearnings. If you love writing or have extra essays lying around in your bedroom, you can try and submit. Associatedcontent and myessays are probably cool places to look at. Even if you are not interested, I would still say check these out.

5) Not sure.

6) 80%?

7) Yes, I have one now. Bought my first one at 17 so I could work.

8) Probably early 30s. Should have an apartment before then.

9) Yes, I hope to someday. Either mid 20's, late 20's. Early 30's if it goes that way.

13) 55? 60? 65? not sure. Depends.

14) I can't answer this.
Reply:I've never had expectations, so I what I have now is what I expected.

1. I had my first real job (not student job) at the age of 22.

2. I get now the minimum wage, roughly $300.

3. I never had any, and I only expect as much to keep up with the minimum wage.

4. There is no such thing in my country. But we have to pay pension and health care, at the moment that costs for me roughly $45.

5. Since it's minimum wage, it's tax-free.

6. I spend nowadays around $115-140.

7. No.

8. I don't plan buying a house. It costs too much. I'll live in a sublet.

9. Since my girlfriend insists on it... We want to do it as soon as possible.

10. We don't plan it. If it happens accidentally, it's ok.

11. I guess around 45-55.

12. Currently here men can retire at the age of 63, so around 10.

13. Should I live that age, by that time I'm sure it'll be raised to 70, if not suspended.

14. Life expectancy is 68 years here for men, so I guess even in the future I'll only have 5 years to live.

Ouch, that hurt. :)

"Underemployment" - - ??? Doesn't EVERY employee think he should run the place?

Every time someone with a background in economics and finance points out that hey, we have low unemployment and incomes are rising, some fringe leftist who doesn't want to admit that he was wrong and thus must find some excuse for the good numbers argues that (1) unemployment is low only because millions of people just gave up looking for work (even though there's no basis for this statement - the unemployment survey asks if you're out of work AND if you're actively looking and the Census Bureau hasn't found any evidence of this mass of people out there who want to work but gave up looking), or (2) that there's this massive "underemployment."

There's no evidence of (2) either. You go to McD's, Wal-Mart, a supermarket and it's immigrants and teens, a few moms - you go to Starbucks and it's college and grad students mainly there for the free coffee. Within the white collar world, we all think we should run the place - and some day some of us will. That's not "underemployment!"

"Underemployment" - - ??? Doesn't EVERY employee think he should run the place?
You are incorrect. The website of the Bureau of Labor Statistics admits that the unemployment statistics do not include people who have stopped looking for work.

There are separate statistics for “discouraged workers” and “other groups not officially counted as unemployed.”
